FIA PRESIDENT RULES OUT AFRICAN GRAND PRIX

During a visit to  Kenya last week the FIA PRESIDENT JEAN TODT has ruled out any possibility for an African formula one taking place within the next three years as it had been said in some sections of the press.

He was meeting Kenyan motor sports officials who  are lobbying for the return of the WRC\FIA championship  calender  to Kenya.
South Africa is the only African country ever to host the prestigious formula one event  during the apartheid years at  Kyalami racetrack.

The last race during the apartheid era was in 1985 whereby a number of teams boycotted the race due to international pressure.
Formula one returned briefly in  the 1990s  after  apartheid was  kicked out of South Africa.

  1. This is ridiculous!!! If africa could host the World Cup and India the common wealth, despite the negative media coverage... what is the big deal here?
