PRESIDENT BASHIR DECLARES SUDAN WILL NOT ACCEPT A SEPARATE SOUTH SUDAN.

NOW the  worst case scenario which we all are expecting in this upcoming referendum if any will be outbreak of conflict again. President BASHIR of Sudan  has stated he will not accept a devided Sudan .

Now we Kenyans have invested heavily in this and one wonders what will be our posture if war breaks out
we have already started the Lamu port and the rail link is in the works.

A recent high powered UN delegation to Sudan especially Juba led by Susan  Rice who is by the way despite being the USA envoy to the UN , she sits on the Obama cabinet and is said and known to be very close to Obama himself. She was one  his closest advisers during the campaign for the white house.

My concern here is that no efforts  were made by the Kenyan government to connect with this woman as she  was around the region .this is a failure by the hapless foreign affairs led by  Mr Wetangula,  Kenyan foreign affairs minister who never seems to be on the ball when it comes to Kenya's interests.

Museveni says he is ready  back south Sudan if war breaks out.He is clearly posing a challenge to Kenya who with their two pronged policy of good neighbourliness will get them nowhere.

We need  to state our stand and  up  now and to  let the worlds  of President Yoweri Museveni  of Uganda to be aware that an independent South Sudan is like the  extension of Kenya  itself and we will use all means available to make sure that South Sudan is a success and is part of the wider community of functioning  East Africans.

  1. @SPIDERman,
(I've been having difficulties submitting comments to this blog. I don't know why).
Because of the issues surrounding nipate.com and the Nairobi Chronicle, I also started creating a blog that would accommodate those of us at the Chronicle with a more serious and intellectual approach. But you beat me to it and your blog took off before mine.
Although it was up and running, I did not advertise the blog (i.e. send invitations) because I was still fine-tuning it. This was progressing at a slow pace because of time constraints and because I was still learning the ropes. Consequently, I have submitted only two posts + an introduction, primarily for testing purposes. It was my intention to attract the EA geopolitical discussions that had been taking place at the Chronice. However, I am also looking to broaden the discussion to a other topics (to each his own) about EA/Kenya - and Africa in general.
I think we share a common interest, i.e., to create a blog/forum where we can exchange information and, as you say, sharpen our minds. So what do you think about combining our efforts? So far, this thing has taken a lot of my time and effort, I imagine it is the same with you. Extending posting (not only commenting) rights to those from the Chronicle who might wish to contribute to the blog would take the load off having to post daily and provide for a more inclusive atmosphere. The exclusion of Risasi from the Chronicle is still fresh in everyone's mind.
If you're interested, just follow the link below and tell me what you think (any issues can be discussed/agreed). Same goes for anyone else reading this. If not, no problem, let us continue enlightening each other and exchanging views as we have been doing so far.
You can drop your comments under "Karibuni" or any other post or reply here. I will be checking regularly.
